2024 DMCT One Day Summit

Join us on September 27th, 2024, for this year's summit in partnership with Village Community Foundation and Connecticut Office of Film Television and Digital Media. This event is an exciting interactive day filled with keynote speakers, industry panel discussions, and juried creative challenges. Whether you're an undergraduate or a recent alum, you won't want to miss this unique opportunity to surround yourself with the state's top young talent and network with industry leaders.

Engage with Professionals

The summit provides students with a unique blend of an industry conference and hands-on challenges. Mini keynote presentations from industry experts cover cutting-edge topics such as the rise of AI, while interactive student challenges are guided by assigned industry coaches. Participants will connect with influential leaders from organizations like Paramount, WWE, Block Party, Pocket Square Productions, and more, gaining valuable insights into the latest trends and innovations shaping the industry.

Design Sprints

Digital Media CT brings together emerging professionals from universities across Connecticut for a one-day summit. Upon arrival, students will be placed on teams with peers from various institutions, fostering collaboration and networking. The interactive challenges will range from quick social media tasks to intense one-hour design sprints, offering a dynamic experience that tests creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Lightening Shoutouts

Digital Media CT is dedicated to building community and connecting students with opportunities. At the DMCT Summit, there will be lightning shoutouts highlighting film festivals, creative challenges, award events, and organizations that align with DMCT's mission to develop and retain Connecticut’s top digital media talent. This is an excellent chance for students to discover new opportunities and deepen their connections with a professional community.

2019 Summit

The 2019 DMCT Summit on September 20 at the University of Connecticut in Stamford gathered 300+ students, professors, and industry pros. Keynote speaker George Barrios of WWE, mini keynotes by Carlota Charles (Cigna Health) and KC Lathrop (IBM), and panels on UI/UX Design and Content Design included experts from Synchrony Financial, Octagon, IBM, Preview Labs, and Save the Children US. Dental Tourism Summit

Dental Tourism has a large market share in the overall medical tourism industry in the world, and with its ever increasing share, it was a no brainer to hold an event regarding the industries future and current trends.

The event hosted industry experts around the world, namely spain, mexico, france, Turkey, US and the UK. The speakers selected to represent each of these countries gave presentations on their countries trends and the distribution of their patients operations. Overall, dental implant treatments had the largest share with %31 of all operations being dental implants of different sorts, followed by dental crowns with %21 percent

Being aware of the importance of dental implant and crown treatments beforehand, digitalmediaact organisers decided to give them a special importance, with 1/3 of the summit being dedicated to presenters giving speeches related to their respective topics. Weldron clinic from United Kingdom gave a presentation on the health benefits of dental implants, whereas a dental clinic from Turkey gave their speech on the marketing aspect of dental implants. The marketing speech was especially well received by listeners, since it demonstrated how simple measures can be taken to increase conversion of prospective clients to increase dental tourism as Periodonta dental clinic did with themselves with their blog post being written about whether it's safe to drink tea after a dental implant surgery.

2018 Summit

The inaugural DMCT Summit took place on June 22, 2018 at the University of Connecticut in Stamford. Serving as a kickoff to a revamped Digital Media CT program, the event included a variety of speakers from CT content producers and beyond. This included professionals from NBC Sports, ESPN, NickJr., Scholastic, Octagon, and Phentermine. Keynote speakers, as well as short clips from two panel discussions are now available as videos on our YouTube channel.
